CAS Game #124 - Imagine

Hello and welcome to AAA Cards!

We've a new challenge for you starting today and it's a bit of a different sort of theme that we hope you'll have fun with.

It was the John Lennon song that was going round my head when I picked this theme, but I think it can be used in a number of ways. Peace is my first idea, but something fantastical or on your wish list or uplifting of spirits or funny or even to do with that lightbulb moment are just a few other ideas that spring to mind.

All we ask is that you remember we are a CAS Challenge and love to see empty non-patterned, non-textured white space.

We'll pick a top winner and some runners up!
It could be you!

Our sponsor this fortnight is Winnie & Walter and they are offering a $25 gift certificate to their shop for our lucky winner.

Winnie & Walter, LLC

Thank you Winnie & Walter!

As well as the 1st place prize from our sponsor we also offer the winner the chance to be a Guest Designer for a future AAA Cards Challenge.

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is the wonderful Izzy from izzyscrap. I'm sure she is well known to all of you, but just in case you haven't discovered her yet here's the link to her blog - HERE. Go be amazed!

Totally rocked this theme with her white dove of peace holding an olive branch. Please go and leave Izzy a lovely comment and make her day!

All the AAA Cards DT have also  made CAS cards to inspire you.  It would be lovely if you visited our blogs and left us some love too!

It's time to showcase our fabulous prize winner and runners up for Game # 122 Melissa's Choice

Thank you for all your gorgeous cards, our gallery was filled with the
most beautiful cards and we had a tough time picking our favourites.

But it had to be done so here we go:

1st place
and winner of a $15 giftcard to STAMPlorations

#69 Trina

Melissa loved this card for its originality and CAS beauty. The diagonal placement of the stencilled balloons is a fabulous way to leave plenty of empty white space.

Congratulations Trina,
please contact Jane with your details - aaacardchallenge@gmail.com

Top Three

 In order of entry

#24  Janet

CAS perfection! We loved the horizontal strip placement of this completely one layer card with the addition of just a few enamel dots and masses of empty white space.

The corner placement of the simple stencilled circles really showcases the dandelion silhouettes. The addition of just a few clear enamel dots keeps this card beautifully CAS.

Another stunning use of that corner placement! We loved the bold hello and the pretty colours of this perfectly CAS card.

Congratulations to you all, please grab our winners badge to display on your blogs.

Our current Challenge #123 is Sketch and there is still plenty of time to get your entries in.

We'd love to see how you interpret this theme and come visit your blogs,
so don't delay, get crafting!

CAS Game #123 - Sketch

Hey!

Welcome to the new challenge here at AAA Cards.

Today we have a sketch for you to use. We've deliberately made it very simple to help you when you create your CAS cards.

And here's the sketch outside of our challenge badge. showing all that empty white space needed for a CAS card.  Please remember that this white space needs to be plain, non-patterned, and non-textured.

We'll pick a top winner and some runners up!
It could be you!

Our sponsor this fortnight for a $20 gift certificate to their store is Happy Little Stampers.

Happy Little Stampers

As well as the 1st place prize from our sponsor we also offer the winner the chance to be a Guest Designer for a future AAA Cards Challenge.

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is Alex who blew us away with her instagram entry for Challenge #118. She now has a blog and would love it if you popped on over to leave her some love - HERE.

Here's her card using the sketch:

Oh so gorgeously whimsical, bound to make you say 'Awwww'.

All the AAA Cards DT have been busy creating CAS cards to inspire you to play along.  It would be lovely if you visited our blogs and left us some love too!

The Winners Circle #121: Friendship

It's time to showcase our fabulous prize winner and runners up for Game # 121 - Friendship

Thank you for all your gorgeous cards, our gallery was filled with the
most beautiful cards and we had a tough time picking our favourites.

But it had to be done so here we go:

1st place
and winner of a $25 giftcard to CAS-ual Fridays

Trina P.

We were bowled over by all that dramatic dark blue empty white space combined with the most exquisite single butterfly and the simple font of the greeting.

Congratulations Trina,
please contact Jane with your details - aaacardchallenge@gmail.com

Top Four

 In order of entry

#29 Kaja

How gorgeous is that stamped, masked and inked use of a heart stencil? A simple font for the greeting and just a few scattered embellishments leaving plenty of white space made this card a DT favourite.

#45 Joyce

A fabulous quote about friendship combined with a simply coloured focal stamp. We liked the single matted layer to frame the card too. A real CAS beauty!

Well this card was quite irresistible! Apart from the very cute single image the partial use of a stencil in the background leaving plenty of empty white space really caught our eye.

Izzy's card uses one of our favourite ways to keep a card CAS - the one third used, two thirds empty style. The minimal embellishment and the crisp sharp stamping and inking also very appealing.

Congratulations to you all, please grab our winners badge to display on your blogs.

Our current Challenge #122 is Use a Stencil and there is still plenty of time to get your entries in.

CAS Game #122 - Use A Stencil

Hey!

And welcome to a brand new challenge here at AAA Cards.  For the next fortnight we'd like to see you use a stencil on your CAS cards.

Not sure what makes a CAS card?

Well can I suggest you check out some of our winners circle posts - link on the side bar or scroll on down. We've been adding little comments by each of our picks highlighting what it is about each card that ticks the AAA Cards boxes and gets us all excited.

We'll pick a top winner and some runners up!
It could be you!

Our sponsor this fortnight is STAMPlorations for a $15 gift certificate to their shop

Shery has joined in with us as a Guest Designer and made a card using STAMPloration goodies and demonstrating exactly what we mean by CAS. Check out the single focal image and all that empty, non-patterned, non-textured 'white' space! Find all the details HERE.

Thank you Shery and STAMPlorations

As well as the 1st place prize from our sponsor we also offer the winner the chance to be a Guest Designer for a future AAA Cards Challenge.

Our next Guest Designer for this challenge is Hannelie from desertdiva.  Love her choice of just three colours and how she's confined a large stencil to a small section of her card.

And we're super lucky this challenge as we also have our winner from our recent instagram celebration of 1000 followers Steph from morticraft joining us a Guest Designer too!

We love how carefully Steph has taken our CAS definition into account when creating her card. One focal image, a simple sentiment and empty white space make this a brilliant example of a CAS card.

We hope you'll love all our Guest Designer creations as much as we do and perhaps find time to follow the links to their blogs and leave them some lovely comments.

Ans of course all the AAA Cards DT have made CAS cards to help and inspire you.  It would be lovely if you visited their blogs and left them some love too!
