AAA Cards Challenge #207: No Layers + BIG Sentiment

Hi everyone!

Welcome to the next challenge here at AAA Cards.

This fortnight we play the dreaded NO Layer game, with the option to use BIG sentiment(s).Our game badge is all about the upcoming Valentine's day celebrations, but it doesn't have to be, it's just inspiration.

The NO layer is mandatory though.

The optional twist was chosen by Francesca.

We're delighted to welcome Maria as our guest designer for this challenge.

Her card is stunning and just proves CAS isn't boring at all.

Thank you for all your gorgeous cards, our gallery was filled with the

most beautiful cards and we had a tough time picking our favourites.

But it had to be done so here we go:

# 14 Marieke

It's no wonder this was a DT favourite, showing you white space doesn't have to be white, just empty.

Congratulations Marieke,

Top Three

 In order of entry

#11 Julie

Concentrating your image and interest on one side of the card is a sure way to stay CAS.

#27 Tracy

There;s  quite a few layers here, but all that white space still ensures a CAS card.

#28 Maria

We just loved the line of gnomes and even splattered there's ample white space left on this NO layers card.

Congratulations to you all, please grab our winners badge to display on your blogs.

Our current Challenge #206 is Moodboard + Snow and there is still plenty of time to get your entries in.

We'd love to see how you interpret this theme and come visit your blogs,

New DT members and a Farewell

It's with a heavy heart we say good bye to three Design Team members and our Admin Jane.

Although I (Maaike) have been helping behind the scenes, Jane was our mastermind, supporter and coordinator of all things CAS.

But it's time for a nice peaceful retirement, so: goodbye Jane we will miss you dearly.

Also departing from our Design team are: Lucie, Arlene and Joy. They have made fabulous things throughout the years, thank you for all your work and dedication.

But we're also welcoming three new Design Team members, we've given you some sneak peeks  in the past few challenges, but here they are in alphabetical order:

Neil Burley

Greetings! I'm Neil and I am a mixed media artist/designer/tutor and maker based in Leicester, UK. I run classes in my purpose-built studio covering everything from card making to scrapbooking, jewelry making to quilting. Fun fact: I can't knit. I love the whole CAS aesthetic and am delighted to be part of the AAA Cards DT - I hope you're inspired by my cards.

Sue Symens

Hey there! I am so excited to be joining the AAA Cards design team. I am a wife, mom, farmer and a prolific card maker. I love CAS cards but I get most inspired by a great challenge that stretches me. I have been stamping for over 20 years and can't wait to see how AAA Cards challenge stretches you.

Hi I'm Tristan and I've been paper crafting in some form for over 15 years and my blog Tinstar Designs is an anagram of my name. By day I'm a Learning Partner for a large bank and am mum to a nearly 15yr old girl finishing Year 9 in high school. I'm also a tragic netball mum. I'm on design teams for the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge, Fusion Challenge, Just Add Ink and Get Creative Challenge and can't wait to join the other talented AAA Cards designers in providing inspiration for our challenges.

Happy New Year to one and all! Next week the start of a new challenge, hope to see you then!

Game #205 - Christmas + optional twist Slimline

Hey!

It's the final challenge of 2021!

As so often happens at this time of year we all start to wonder where the time has gone and whether we need to make changes in the year ahead. And that's exactly what's happened here at AAA Cards.

So we're saying goodbye to Arlene, Joy and Lucie as they get on with their busy lives. Huge thanks to all three of you for your wonderful inspiration.

You've already had a sneak peek at two of their replacements - Neil and Sue Symens. Tristan will be rounding up the team in 2022. Scroll on down to view her card for the new challenge.

And finally I too will be stepping down and simplifying my life. I'm super happy to do this in the knowledge that the challenge will be in the very capable and mega organised hands of Maaike. The most enormous thanks to Maaike for taking over this busy challenge.

So what is the last 2021 challenge then?

Well it is that time of year so we went with Christmas - CAS of course!

Slimline can be original size 3.5" x 8.5" or mini size 3.5" x 6"

We're delighted to welcome back Jane D as our guest designer and her card is just so elegant and beautiful. As fans of CAS you're going to love it!

See what I mean? Pop over to her blog to find all the details and leave her some love - HERE.

The AAA Cards DT have also pulled out all the stops and created the most wonderful CAS Christmas cards to fire up your imagination.

(with a video on her blog)

Tristan will be introduced properly in January but has created this card to show off her CAS style.

And now it's your turn!

We're looking forward to seeing your CAS cards fill our gallery and there is plenty pf time to play along as this challenge runs for four weeks.
Just remember here at AAA Cards we love empty, non patterned white space.
