Hey!
Time for a new challenge here at AAA Cards. And also a little reminder about our CAS definition and what we mean by 'white' space. The key for us is the EMPTY bit, so please no embossing, patterns or textured card on your CAS cards.
Because we love having you play along with us and want everyone to be in with a chance to win Maaike has made a little video for you to watch all about that empty white space - HERE.
So on to the new challenge:
We'll pick a top winner and some runners up!
It could be you!
And my tip for this theme is - keep the one image small to allow for plenty of empty white space!

Our sponsor this fortnight is Precious Remembrance Shop and their prize is their Sketchy Alphabet stamp set.
Thank you Precious Remembrance Shop!
As well as the 1st place prize from our sponsor we also offer the winner the chance to be a Guest Designer for a future AAA Cards Challenge.
Our very talented and well known Guest Designer for this challenge is Sharon from frommycraftdesk. Here's her beautiful take on the challenge:
One gorgeous image with a stencilled background that doesn't interfere with all that smooth empty white space.
And of course all the AAA Cards DT have also made One Image CAS cards to inspire you. I won't mention that EMPTY white space again .........
Wonderful CAS cards and tons of inspiration, thank you x. Thank you for the explanation of CAS for your challenges Jane....is white linen card still considered textured for the 'open space' ? I know you can't dry emboss/stencil or do texturing yourself ...just wondering? x Thank you x
ReplyDeleteSuch a good question! And I was going to say depends on how deep the texture is on your linen card - we have to accept a little texture for water coloured cards because that's just the way watercolour card is. But then I realised that's not very helpful, so the short, & just to be on the safe side, answer is no linen card would not be ok for open space.
DeleteGood morning Jane and thank you so very much for clearing that up. It's good to have firm rules and it's so very helpful. I never thought of water colour card having some texture in it for obvious reasons x. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday and thanks again x
DeleteGorgeous cards ladies, hugs, Lori m
ReplyDeleteThank you Lori, pleased you like them. :)
DeleteOh, thank you so much for clarifying what white space is. I've been remiss in using patterned paper or embossing on a few cards in the past but will avoid it from now on.
ReplyDeleteSo pleased to have helped with the white space issue, it is a tricky thing to get your head around. :)
DeleteSuch lovely inspiration from the DT and what a great theme, thanks for the challenge!
ReplyDeleteThank you Emily so pleased you like the theme. :)
DeleteMy first time here and I've tried to do as CAS as I can - great theme
ReplyDeleteSo much glorious white space, ladies ... and brilliant designs ... inspiration galore, thank you! Anita :)
